So I gave into twitter.

Check me out.
OK. So I almost lost my ipod touch yesterday. And let me tell you... my heart was frantic. Even though I may have appeared calm, cool and collected, inside paranoia was taking over as I wondered what I would do without all my fun applications, gigs and gigs of music, and most importantly-my calendar. My love of all things Apple started flashing in front of my eyes like an iwork 09 keynote presentation.
Calmly I retraced my steps in my head and I did find it.. in the fitness room of all places! HUMPH!
I think someone needs to create an application so that when you lose your touch or iPhone- all you gotta do is clap and it will beep. If anyone does read this and actually tries to develop an app that does just that- please note that I require at least 20% of the profit for a freakin good idea.
Ahh hospitals... how I don't love thee. So I had surgery last week... they took my thyroid out. Easy surgery.... shoulda been out in a day. But then again- this is me we're talking about. S.I.G.H.
I finally made it out of the hospital 10 days later. I think I was some sort of medical mystery. See.... we have these things called parathyroid glands. They are small yet mighty. And when they don't work... then calcium levels in your body go all wacky and you get very sick. That is what happened to me!
But I had a team of amazing doctors ( headed up by Dr. Todd McMullen... shout out!) and Nurses who took great care of me. And now I am finally out! Good thing, cuz I thought I'd have to head downstairs to the psych ward if i stayed much longer.
Anyways-the human body is fascinating! The tiniest things can really mess you up! But modern medicine came thru ( yay U of A Hospital!) and I'm on my way back to fabulous!
So ladies and gents, please join me in lifting your glasses ( or iphones, ipods, laptops.. whatever) to the nurses of Ward 3D3 and Dr. McMullen & his team! You guys are amazing:)
Happy New Year everyone!
I wanted to share with you this amazing story that is coming out as a movie in the spring! Having worked with an orchestra for the past 4 years and having been a musician for most of my life... this story is close to my heart!
